Register now for Phys Ed 101
Is your child ready for some fun physical activity at a price that won't break the bank? Register them now for Phys Ed 101. Our new program teaches the core fundamentals of popular sports like soccer, basketball, volleyball, and lacrosse just to name a few.
Next session starts Tuesday, April 2nd, 2019 at PCPS on Highway 34, north of Vankleek Hill.
Spaces are limited. $30/semester + $15 annual membership fee. If your child participated in our fall and/or winter semesters, you've already paid the membership fee.
The first initiative will be a program called Phys Ed 101 in which participants will be exposed to numerous sports over the course of three 12-week semesters (fall, winter, and spring). Each semester will be broken down into specific sport units (such as basketball, volleyball, badminton, etc) which will each last 2-5 weeks. The weekly sessions will be held on Tuesday nights at Pleasant Corners Public School (6:00 pm - grades 3 to 5 and 7:30 pm - grades 6 to 8) and will follow the Long Term Player Development (LTPD) models which have become the standard across the country. LTPD stresses appropriate sized playing surfaces, small groups, greater practice to game ratios and grouping players with similar skill sets.
The Vankleek Hill Rockets are proud members of the Glengarry Soccer League and also travel to play in festivals and tournaments. The teams take the field each week sporting their silver/black/red colours.
Vankleek Hill fields minor teams from U6 all the way up to U19, as well as senior men and women's teams.
Registration for the 2019 summer season opens in February so keep an eye out for more information.
Formerly Champlain Minor Sports, our new soccer, softball and ball hockey programs will teach your child the basics of the game in a fun, friendly environment.
Soccer starts in mid-may and will run for 8 weeks. Ball Hockey and Softball run through July-August.
